...there are Sam Gagner for Oilers captain rumours. I love him to distraction, but WHAT? Not that he won't do fine, but they have so many other guys who are either shinier or older? I guess he's a compromise? Who knows? *hands*

Ditto all flailing over PK's continued quest to flirt with everyone and document it for the internet. There needs to be a billion more stories about PK and Carey at Olympics camp NOW. Actually, there needs to be all the Olympics camp fic in general, but PK is the one making it gloriously easy.


Or come whine at me about your wips and stuff. I just finished my big bang draft (because I was avoiding summarising it for my artist, oops), so now I'm poking at my other nine million, and grumbling. LET US ALL LOATHE THE WRITING PROCESS TOGETHER. :P

I kind of love the Sam Gagner as Captain rumour, partly because it makes me smile that he would be recognized that way, and partly because I was worrying it would be either Hall or Eberle. It is kind of ridiculous following on all the trade rumours though :P

Yeah, exactly. It's great for him! It'll be nice if they're no longer dicking him around for not managing to be magical after they claimed he would be in his rookie year and then didn't develop him at all!

But then, is this just another way to dick around with him? It's obviously going to have to be one of the baby stars fairly soon (though I do agree that none of them are ready yet), and what will happen to Sam then?

I hadn't even thought it could be another way of dicking him around :( And if they do decide in a couple years that one of the babies has to be captain, that means Sam is gone, since he's not nearly the elder statesman enough to hand over the C without leaving the team :(((

Yeah... I don't think they do it on purpose, but, well, Sam has consistently been the guy who gets shafted to make room for other people, and that could easily happen here. Plus he has that weird contract with a NMC in his second year, but not the third, which says to me that they've agreed to keep him around so far, but no further.

Oh, man, if I start whining about wips I will NEVER STOP. Stuff I just posted was essentially procrastination from the extremely long list of ACTUAL FIC that I have to finish VERY SOON NOW.

Hah, yes. I think I only managed to actually write promptfic this week because it wasn't the longfic I really didn't want to have to finish. It spent so long thisclose to done because I hate writing transitions so much, but all my scenes were written wildly out of order so they really needed just that little bit extra to make them less abrupt.

Feel free to whine though! We can all support one another in this (continuously ongoing) period of wips being terrible.

I am impressed and envious that you have your draft done. I defaulted back in July, leaving me with around 9,000 words of related snippets in search of a cohesive plot.

I have around 750 words written for something else I've been stalled on since last spring. I looked at it today and fixed a sentence.

I have begun research for a bleak Civil War AU which no one but my beta will probably read. My history is rusty so I'm pretty much starting from scratch. Just doing the research is making me cry.

I have the unfinished sequel to "Reason," I have a story for The Americans I want to write, and I need to finish something to post for xf_is_love.

There's more. It's endless, really.

Well, 9000 words of anything is nice to have, even if they won't cohere? Transitions are terrible though. I loathe writing them.
