What is the point of genderswapping Elizabeth? Cynically, I'd imagine you have a writer who likes Austen, loves Mr. Darcy, enjoys writing men and m/m slash and perhaps doesn't like writing women? Without the gender issues of the time, the plot of Pride and Prejudice has been rendered moot, so all that's left would be, what? A standard m/m period romance?
