Goddamnit, why is it that every damn time I sit down to fill in the bits of my longfic that current say [AND THEN THEY HAD SEX, IT HIT X EMOTIONAL BEAT], the only thing my brain can come up with is completely different porn featuring entirely different combinations of people from totally separate stories that don't even exist yet? :P

you clearly need to write down those bits of porn when thusly inspired and save them - someday, those stories *will* exist, and you'll have something into which to plug them

or you could just confuse the hell out of everyone by inserting them into your current story

I have been...my only problem is that my tendency to overcomplicate inevitably means that they also develop a story around them that I start avoiding writing as well.

I have to say that I am very, very amused by the thought of e.g. my M/M/M threesome who have just gotten to the point of clothing removal being suddenly replaced by a completely different het couple who bone for a few hundred words and are then never heard from again, though I think it would do some considerable violence to the emotional through-line. ;)

Sigh, if only it was that easy. (You know how it is, when your brain is going "what if X happened, then Y, etc.? *poke, poke*" and then running away when you attempt to translate that into words that actually make it interesting to read.)
